Auto Repair

When you come to us with a problem, our goal is to fix it the right way the first time and deliver a long-lasting result. We do not want to see anyone coming back again for a problem we already fixed. So, we are committed to arriving at the root of the problem through testing and evaluation, choosing quality parts that last, and repairing the vehicle with the highest level of craftsmanship.

Tires

We replace, balance, and patch tires. We seek to install tires that run comfortably, quietly, and reliably for the long haul. We also solve pressure monitoring problems.

Brake Systems

We service disc and drum brake systems and anti-lock brake control systems. This includes evaluation of performance problems and repair work. We set you up for long-lasting, quiet, performance and confidence in safety and reliability.

Steering & Suspension (Chassis)

We are equipped to pinpoint faulty (loose, broken, or worn) chassis components, as well as that strange noise that you’ve been hearing.

Heating & Air Conditioning

If your a/c system is not blowing as cold as it should be, whether due to leaking refrigerant or an electrical problem, we can find and fix the problem for you. We do routine service cooling system services, and are equipped to deal with related problems like poor heater circuit flow and poor heat output.

Transmissions & Clutch Systems

Transmission problems can be scary but we can determine if a rebuild or replacement is needed. We also do testing and repairs on clutch systems and their related hydraulic circuits. We can also help you determine when your fluid needs to be exchanged to extend the life of your transmission.

Electrical Systems

We routinely pinpoint and repair electrical system faults, all the way from poor battery connections and bad starter contacts to intermittent operational faults and pinpointing faulty modules (small computers). We can fabricate new electrical wiring when necessary with strict standards.

Engine Services

We test, evaluate, and repair performance problems. We evaluate and repair engine compartment leaks. We routinely perform “heavy” repairs such as timing belt and timing chain work, head gasket replacements, and major upper engine procedures. We are also equipped to remove and replace engine assemblies when needed for service or replacement.

Auto Body, Paint, & Collision

We occasionally do in-house body work, including doors, windows, mirrors, bumpers, lamps, etc. However, we are not a collision shop, and for major post-collision repairs, we’d be glad to handle the sublet process for you. If you do not already have a trusted source for collision and paint repairs, we are able to stand in the gap for you, “talk shop” with the collision repair facility, and take part in providing you a quality result.

Quality Cost Effective Parts

We offer Original Equipment (OE) parts, OE-comparable parts, and aftermarket parts selected on the basis of quality and value. When we source parts, we look first at quality. Then, given more than one option, we balance cost and longevity. There are times when we will give you the choice given more than one quality option.

If we offer a choice, you should be able to count on any or all options provided as being good ones. For example, a replacement fan assembly that lasts 80k miles may provide a better value than a replacement assembly that costs twice as much and lasts for 100k miles, but we want no part of selling a low-grade replacement that fails you in a year or two.

Our focus on quality parts will save you money in the long run. For example, let’s say a shop offered you a part that is relatively inexpensive but lacking quality and would only last three years. In three years you will have to purchase another part and pay a mechanic labor a second time to repair the vehicle. However, if we chose a slightly higher cost part at a higher quality that lasted six years, you are saving time and money in the long run with the higher quality part.

We offer an unusual approach to parts markup. Due to the costs involved in sourcing, stocking, procuring, and researching parts, we do think that a modest parts markup is appropriate. In other words, enough of a markup so that we don’t suffer a loss in parts procurement that we then have to make up for elsewhere. On the other hand, we don’t consider parts to be a major profit area either. We take no part in selling low-priced parts at high margins. We apply the same low markup percentage to a $.50 washer that we would apply to an $800 control module.

A High Standard in Craftsmanship

Just as we want to offer quality parts that will stand the test of time, we also want to provide professional quality craftsmanship that will honor the value of the parts being installed. We can put a quality part in your vehicle, but without following proper procedures in the installation process, we would still be providing you with a sub-par service.

Workmanship practices can make a huge difference in the longevity of a brake job, or the success of an internal engine repair, or whether an electrical repair stands the test of time. The question is often not whether your vehicle is better immediately after service but whether the repair holds up for the long run. It is extremely important to us that your vehicle goes back to you in a condition that lasts. We want to put you back into a vehicle that we would feel comfortable putting our mom in.

In everything we do – testing & evaluation, parts, craftsmanship, and client services – we want to do it the right way the first time. This offers the best value to you and allows us to stand confidently behind our work.
